About the Course

This course is of 4 months duration. On successful completion of this Pre-Sea Training, the candidates will be eligible to join India / Foreign Shipping companies as a Deck / Engine crew. With Further Sea Service, they will be promoted as a motorman / oil man. Fitter, BOSUN, Able-Bodied Seaman. They can also be promoted to Officer Level with certain service and qualification requirements.

Job Prospectus

Merchant ships require qualified and competent personnel to man various services and systems on Board. After completing G.P. rating course a candidate can join either as a Deck rating or Engine rating.

Courses Offered - Pre Sea Courses- Pre Sea GP Rating Course

Pre Sea GP Rating Course:

The institute conducts the DG Sipping approved course in its campus. The eligibilty criteria for the course is as under :

Education Qualification : Min pass class 10th  with English, Maths and science as subject.

Minimum 40% marks over all in class 10th and 40% marks in English eighter in class or 12th.

Age :  Not over 25 yrs as on the date course starts.

Medical fitness:

(a)  Both eyes 6/6 with no aids.  No colour blindness.

(b)  No deformity in body. Fitness certificate by a DG Shipping approved docter be submitted.

(c)  Medically fit as per MS rule 2000.

Knowledge of English language:  The aspirent/applicant shuold able to read, write, understand and speak english.

Knowledge of computer : Must have the basic knowlege as the All India Exit Exam by Board of Examination is conducted "online"

(a)  Hostel and food

(b)  Uniforms as specilesed in the DG Shipping guidelines

(c)  STCW 2010 courses including Oil Tanker Familiarzaion and Security Training to Seafarers with Designated Security Duties.

(d)  All Study material, books, registers and note books.

(e)  Ship vist in a second class sleeper coach train (Indain Railways)

(f)  Cost of Indian CDC and INDoS No.

(g)  Cost of all internal assessments, monthly tests, unit tests, review tests and All India Exit Exam conducted by the Board of Examination for Seafarers, Mumbai.

Selection procedure :  All eligible candidates can directly admitted by conducting oral interview and by verifying the Original academic certificates.

Submission of Medical reprts :  All candidates to complete their medical fitness test by aDG Shipping approved doctor and submit prior to commencement of the course. Medically unfit students are barred from attending the course and full in refunds are done.

Deposit of course fees :  All candidates are advised to submit a  part payment to confirm their admission in the course and the remaining course fees can be submitted on reporting for the course. However the fees can be deposit in two equal installments on request.
